Model Home Merchandising
Designing a model home is completely different from designing a residential home.
From the space planning and traffic flow, down to the accessory choice and art placement – creating a model is a meticulous process that involves understanding the merchandising and visual advertising of a lifestyle and community.
Each and every item that I specify and purchase for a model home, including the colors of the object and the names on the books, are carefully selected to create a cohesive story as a selling point for my clients.
Color is crucially important in merchandising as well. Subconscious reactions to color help in selling the lifestyle story to buyers. Specific shades of colors are reflective of the demographic to which the home builders are targeting. Typically model homes are much more colorful and deliberate than a residential home.
